Day 4, 26 September 2013

Day 4 started of by some of us going to the new computer lab with Mr Teoh to discuss what we could do to further improve the place.

This was the state of the classroom when we entered.

There were boxes at one corner of the room. We knew we had a lot to do

No time to waste! Time for planning, then action!

While we were planning, Bhante was having a discussion on his own with his staff

The chief of Sri Lanka's Civil Defence came to say thank you

We spilt into 4 teams. First one had to work with the students to check on the existing computers which were not working.

We had to fix 10 computers of the school and also install softwares into the computer which we brought from Singapore.

Is this the right way to put the hard disk?

After we were done repairing the comuters, we started unpacking our compupters.

We wanted to do something different, so we played Charades. We were surprised when the some of the students told us that they had never done this kind of activity in class

To make things more interesting, we decided to have a competition. Each group was to sing "Que Sara"

The students actively participated in activities we had planned for them. Though they were shy in the beginning, they slowly began to open up. We had a lot of fun together. One of the students even said that this was the best English lesson she ever had! Job well done guys!
