Our first stop was a tea plantation. Sri Lanka is the world 4th largest supplier of tea, so we could not miss the chance of seeing the process the tea is made. Before we got to the tea plantation, we were treated to the most beautiful sceneries. Here are just some of the pictures we took.
Anyone still want to disagree that Sri Lanka is not a beautiful country? We really did not expect to be treated to such beautiful places.
On our way there, we spotted some leaves pluckers.
And we have arrived our destination.
In you go to the tea factory.
The nice lady who explained to us the process. She explained to us in detailed and answered our question very politely.
There are many processes which the tea goes through. It was really interesting as we thought that there would not be so many processes which had the tea leaves had to go through before being packed. We did not even know that there were different grades to tea!
One picture before we leave, look at the background!
Next we headed to the herbal garden where we learnt about the different plants and herbs. We also learnt that different plants could be used to treat many kinds of ailments. These were known as ayurvedic medicines.
There were lots of smelling. The plants or herbs had really nice scent!
Walking around the garden with our guide.
We also had the opportunity to taste some of these medicines which were supposedly good for our body.
How did it taste Jeremy?
Jem Jem like. Jem Jem wants MORE!!
They even produced hair removal cream. The cream did not have any chemical in it.
Hair no more. Apparently the hair would not grow back for another 6 months!
We were then treated to body massage!
Alex was totally enjoying it! His face says it all!
After the massage and feeling refreshed, we walked around more.
Some of the plants we saw.
Alex! No plucking!
After the tour we were then given tea to cool ourselves down.
After all the tours, it was a long journey to Colombo where we had the opportunity to shop for souvenirs.
It was night when we got there
After shopping, it was time to head to the airport.
Mom and dad I'm coming home.
We felt really sad saying goodbye to our tour guide, bus driver and his assistant. They really took care of us. Even Bhante came to the airport to say his goodbyes. Thank you Sri Lanka for all the wonderful memories. Thank you very much.
