Day 11, 3 October 2013

Today we visited a Sinhala government school, the school was huge! The hall was almost the same to the standard we had back home but sadly, this school did not have a single computer. The necessities of the students was taken by the government. One of Sri Lanka's ministers also joined us at the school. We were given a grand welcome. Here are the pictures,

After handing out the stationeries, we handed over the computers to the principal of the school. Here's a pic with all of us with the minister.

We were then invited to have lunch. A very special lunch. Bhante called it the "fruit lunch" Basically we had variety of fruits to choose from. And there was also yoghurt.

Once we were done with lunch, it was time for us to go for our last mission. We were to go to a remote village which was also Bhante's village. He had set up a school there and we were to assist him in setting up a computer lab. It was a long journey. To get to the village, we had to take tuk tuk as the bus could not go in as the roads were just too small. It was dark by the time we got there, so were few pictures were taken.

The smallest school we visited through out the trip

After the long journey, we need the toilet.

Followed by food!

Delicious Appam!

Let get ready to unload the computers.

Planning out what needs to be done tomorrow.

Mr Teo meeting the locals.

We have only one day to set up the mini computer lab. A lot needs to be done. Reformatting the computers, getting tables, chairs, fans, lights for the computer lab. Cleaning up the lab. Setting up the lab. Tomorrow we will be racing against time. But with a team like this, nothing is impossible!
